Mom of a 11 m old girl9 months ago
Q.

I feed my 2.5 month old baby in lying position at night. There is no burping as we both sleep during the feeding at night. At couple of days back she woke up in the middle of night as if she was choking on anything and she couldn’t get it out. I layed her on her side and patted a few times and she took a big burp. This incident happened last night too . She woke as if she was choking. I took her on my shoulder and tried to get her to burp but she couldn’t. After a long time she burped spitting some cough and milk. All this while when she didn’t burp I got really scared because of her unusual choking like behaviour. What am I doing wrong? Is feeding in a lying position wrong? Should I sit and feed at night too?

A. Better to avoid feeding the baby in lying position abd even if you are feeding then keep head if the baby little elevated and after feeding hold baby across your shoulder and pat back gently downwards
