Author of questionMom of a 4 yr old girl3 years agoA. hi. sorry but the advice given to you is totally wrong. saying that baby shouldnt get sleep in the day is ridiculous. your baby needs ample sleep in the day so that he/she doesn't get overtired at night. if baby is overtired then baby will wake up at night multiple times. please don't listen to random advice. that too coming from a doctor. wow. your baby's sleep patterns are changing now in the 5th month and is developing circadian rhythm. please read about this online with verified sources from pediatricians around the world. your baby is now physiologically ready to sleep all night without a feed however this takes some time and practice.
Dt Ritu PuriGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Hi dear mom, it takes some time for the baby to change his sleeping pattern. Try these methods to ensure baby can gradual shift his sleeping habits
1-. after last feed at night around 9-10 pm ensure baby burp out and keep baby upright for 30 min to ensure baby get not colic pain at night and wakes up due to that
2- During day time keep baby engaged in some activities so baby doesn't get proper sleep during day.
3- Massage baby at night before sleeping and change the night dress so that it give baby sense of sleeping time

Your baby: 5 months oldAround this time your baby may hit a growth spurt, with all the extra eating and sleeping (or not sleeping) that goes with it. This is the age to start gradually introducing solid foods, such as infant cereals and puréed meats, veggies and fruits (talk about a photo op).
