Q.

hi, my son is 1 year7 days old, but he is unable to take mashy or chunky food. He always wants puree form, otherwise he is making faces of vomiting or spitting up. what can i do.

A. dear Mum, at the age of 1 year, you should avoid giving pureed food. there can be problem with eating behaviours if baby not introduced to unblended foods from 11 month onwards. now you avoid grinded foods, instead start with soft foods, like small pieces of chapati dip in Dal rather than blended even if child is eating less amount off unblended food for few days it is alright. child will eat eventually when hungry let child self feed give finger foods, let child mess a little for creating interest in unblended food keep trying. make child sit with the family to eat to understand how older people have their food

A. Give little little small small bite and teach your child how to eat it otherwise it is going to be a major problem for you so you can do maybe two or three bites of pure food and then regular small bites that’s how you are child is going to learn it over the period
