Q.

hi, my daughter is 4 years 6 months old. last week she had cold and fever. When taken to doctor she had given syrups for cold, fever and advised to use Tonoferon (pediatric syrup) 2.5 ml per week regularly upto 10 years of age saying it's central govt policy to use this syrup for kids for iron. please advise is there any such central government policy for toddlers to use iron syrup ( Tonoferon) upto 10 years.

A. Hello my dear parent’ not sure about the government policy, but yes, you can definitely give the supplement for the child. If you have any concerns, take a second opinion and give medication as prescribed. Good luck and take care.
