She used to say few one words like Thatha( grandpa), Avva(grandma), akka(sister), Intha(here), giya(water), kaka(crow), cucukoo,hello....when she was 11months old.. Now she s not saying anything. She forgot all those words and also not repeating watever v say. But she understands watever i say and responds. If i say come sit here she ll come and sit and does watever i say but she s not talking. Talking like she keeps on babbling stuffs but not saying words.. I dont know why she is doing like this. A. proper language / speech development will start between 18 months of age to 2 years of age. there is no need to worry before that just concentrate on the diet and regular interaction with the child. also speech and language develops properly with more people available to interact with the child avoid usage of tv mobile and laptop because they are the most common reasons for delayed speech and language development. the most important thing is that before speech understanding of the commands given by the parents should be present. by 18 months if the child is not following basic commands then only you have to meet the doctor requirement of speech therapy will also be discussed by your doctor it is advisable that you should visit the paediatrician who will tell you if everything is within the normal limits or not after examination as well as scoring system
