Q.

Hi, I'm a mother of a 3 month old baby boy. I'm having doubt regarding his vaccination. In 6 weeks, he was given vaccines HEXA, ROTA and PCV from a private hospital. In 10 weeks, we took him to a nearby government hospital, from where he was given PENTA, ROTA and OPV. The hospital staff informed that as first dose of PCV taken was pcv 13 variant, the same may be administered from the same private hospital, from where the first dose was given. Now I'm worried that both the doses have been now given from different companies, is it safe for my child? Also, polio vaccine in the first dose was given as IPV and in the second dose as OPV. Is that efficient enough? Also please guide whether for the third dose, I should go to the private hospital (as taken in the first dose) or should I go to the government hospital (as taken in the 2nd dose).

A. it is advisable to continue 13 valet and pneumococcal vaccine in the future because it gives more immunity and rest of the vaccines give same unitary so that doesn't matter in government and private setup but for pneumococcal it is advisable to continue 13valent

A. All the vaccination should be given according to the vaccination schedule whether the government or IAP schedule and you can discuss with your pediatrician regarding the details of the vaccination. Pulse polio immunization programme is provided by the government to all children below 5 years of age. if your child has received polio vaccine before as per the schedule then also you should give this vaccine on the the pulse polio day as this is an additional vaccine. For polio vaccine dates and related query you need to contact your local authorities .All the vaccination should be given according to the vaccination schedule whether the government or IAP schedule and you can discuss with your pediatrician regarding the details of the vaccination.
