hi, I am arpeeta. my sister is 9 week pregnant according to last menstrual period but 7 week 2 days pregnant according to usg gestational period. today she went for usg but there was no heartbeat and embryo in the gestational sac. Is this normal to not having embryo and heartbeat seen in the 7 weeks 2 days gestational sac??? she is really tensed and crying a lot

ExpertDr.Sabiha AnjumObstetrician and Gynaecologist3 years agoA. ideally the fetal heart should be clearly visible by 6 weeks of pregnancy itself and also there is a discrepancy of 2 weeks when it comes to gestational age. it will lead to an abortion,sorry to say. but she can wait for another week and repeat tye scan if she's not sure about dates.
