Q.

Hi, Due to some health issues my doctor has suggested not to breastfeed baby directly. He had advised to express breast milk, boil it and use bottle to feed the baby. Will that have any issue in future once I start feeding him directly after 2-3 weeks??

A. breast milk should never be boiled first of all Mother's milk is complete food for the baby . The initial portion is watery that takes care of hydration and the later portion that is creamy and rich in facts will provide then necessary nutrition. So there is no need to give even water . Try to exclusively breastfeed the baby for first 6 months after birth.

A. I understand all that. But as I am suspected to have viral hepatitis b virus and I am getting all my tests done, my doctor is suggesting not to breastfeed the baby directly for the time being. I am worried now as I feel once I start using bottle, my baby might not feed directly later on as he will be used to of bottle. Also pls let me know if anyone has any idea about spreading of this virus thru breastfeeding.
