#AskTheExpert While my wife has cracked nipples, should she still keep breastfeeding the baby, would it cause any problem to her ? Also can she use breast pump to express breast milk instead of feeding the child directly ?

A. Hi parent please do consult a gynecologist for the treatment and medicine. for some time say like 10 days let her express milk by breast pump so it will give her time to heal. and after that use nipple shield to feed the baby and then shift to direct feeding. when she's comfortable and have no pain.

A. Although this will be a little painful for a mother but there is no harm to the child if he is sucking milk from cracked nipples she was to apply Desi ghee over eight when she is not feeding and let it stay some medicines and ointments are also available in the market but it should be under doctors recommendation and yes she can make use of a breast pumpWrite Your Answer Here
