Q.

Hi Dr, my boy is 19 months old he has cold n cough.. so can i use Vicks vaporub on his chest n nose

A. no problem you can apply Vicks vapour rub on the chest of the baby Cold and cough in the babies are because of viral infections which will take at least five to six days time to subside it is advisable to do steam inhalation frequently to liquefy the secretions as well put nasoclear saline drops in the nose of the baby

A. Oh No please don’t use it directly on to the body of your child if you want you can put it into a steamer and you can give indirect steam to your child of that particular thing but it is not recommended to apply it on to the nose or chest of the body it’s not a healthy thing to use
