Q.

Hi Doctor, My baby is having fever from yesterday fluctuating 100°c-102°c . Giving paracetamol syrup 3.5ml every 6 hrs ..he is having severe gums itching.. Does tooth eruption causes fever? He is not eating much..just having semisolids a little ... sometimes he is active sometimes he is dull Should I take my baby to the hospital now?

A. yes, low grade fever is common during teething, give paracetamol in proper dose.. if it won't cure do consult your paedriatician. You can also offer relief to the child by rubbing a clean finger or soft washcloth firmly on the baby’s gums,.

A. Yes teething Can cause fever and I think that is why your child is having fever give medicine to the child required along with that also I’m going to advise you to start doing cold sponging that will also help in reduction of the temperature if the fever does not subside within 72 hours then you should get it assessed with your doctor
