Q.

Hello sir, My baby is 5 months 13 days old, 7 and a half kg as he is being given 4,5 times top feed in a day so now we have started introducing him solids as a one time meal, first we introduced him boiled potato then boiled apple then yesterday we fed papaya which didn’t suit him, Sir three questions I have, should I stop giving him as a meal? If I’m giving him solids so what should be the quantity of food? How much water should I give him in a day?

A. Dear ma’am, whenever you introduce any new food for the first time try around two or three tablespoons and always allow the baby to decide on the quantity. Two to three ounces of water can be given. However if you frequently breastfeeding then your milk will provide all the fluids your baby needs
