A. Hello Mommy . I am mom to a 3year old, we have successfully potty trained him but the journey was not at all a easy one!
He refused to poop in the potty initially and asked only for diaper to poop in as he was grossed out at the look of potty and cried every time he saw it.
So to start with.
1. We stopped wearing diaper. So he had to communicate with us that he had to poop. so making them understand that poop has to be conveyed is the first step.
2. Now that we had established that he was able to communicate his potty need we started wearing diaper but the next step was going to the bathroom after wearing diaper . And the cleaning happened with water. He enjoyed butt water wash. 😅
3. Slowly then we stepped to a training potty . I had to tell him how easy it would be if he pooped there and it's fun to do so. Convey how elders go to potty and the Potty song from Cocomelon helped honestly. Meanwhile you have to get rid of the diaper even when you are going out slowly otherwise we may end up sending mixed signals to the kid only leading to confusion.
4. Now we have stepped to a seater over the western closet
It was a years process. Required a lot of patience. It comes with a package of discomfort and cries from them as they have to accommodate to the change. All we got to do is trust the process and keep assuring and reassuring them it's going to be okay and I am here with you.

A. Our child is 3 yrs 10 months. We are having a similar issue. Our child poops only in standing position in his underwear and refuses and cries to sit on any potty seat / potty chair / other alternative. Since he was 2 years, we have been patiently and consistently trying this with him in an encouraging manner, but no luck yet. Would be very grateful if you could share ideas / methods that worked in your child's case.

A. hello...
first of all potty training has nothing to do with if your child likes to be tidy or not.... all kids are messy at this stage..
I was experiencing the same problem when my son was 2 years old as he wanted to poop in standing position only... Then i bought a miniature potty chair of similar look like that of adult seat.. (it has a pretend flush button making the sound of water as well) To my surprise my son accepted that and started sitting. So please buy that. it's easily available online as well as in the market.
Secondly start taking him to washroom along with you just to tell that we all use this toilet, but as this toilet is big... he has to use the smaller one.
Please don't worry... handle this with patience... kids at this stage like to copy a lot... so he would like to use the same kind of toilet seat as well.

A. your baby is one half years old so you should make a proper toilet training for the child and just allow the child to sit in the potty seat on a regular type do not use diverse now
