Q.

hello, My son is 2 months old. If he is sleeping I wake him up after every 2.5-3 hrs to feed. If he is awake he ask for feed after every 1-1.5hrs. He is gaining proper weight. Do I still need to wake him up to feed? or is it ok to feed him whenever he wakes up and hungry? Specially in night. will it affect my milk flow if there's long gap of 4-5 hrs?

A. Hello good morning make sure that you try to to feed for longer time duration. Like 15-20 mins each breast. So what happens is This way baby will get balanced foremilk and hind milk. Foremilk comes in the beginning for 5-10 mins then comes the hind milk which is rich in fats and can help baby gain weight follw the feeding schedule feed baby every 2-3 hours during the day time. It's important to do this. And night hours feed every 4-5 hours.
