Q.

Hello, My baby is 4 months 10 days old and she is on exclusive breastfeeding. from the past few days her bowel movements are not regular. she poops once in 4 or 5 days. But there are no signs of constipation, stools are soft and she is not straining. she remains active all day long and pee count around 10 to 15 times. Is this a matter of concern and I am really worried. we did her thyroid test when she is 3 months old and it is 1.3. please kindly suggest what should I do to make her bowel movements regular

A. Constipation in Babies less than 6 months is very common and more in formula fed babies. you can wgive bonnisan drops and some enzyme preparations in proper dose suggested by doctor and cow's milk should be avoided before 1 year of age
