A. Feeling a decrease in baby movements during the ninth month of pregnancy can be concerning, but it's not always a sign of a problem. As the baby grows and space in the womb becomes more limited, the nature of the movements may change, becoming less vigorous and more rolling or stretching than kicking. However, you should still feel regular movements. Here's what you can do: 1. **Perform a kick count**: Lie down on your left side and count the baby's movements. You should feel at least 10 movements within two hours. Movements include kicks, rolls, or flutters. 2. **Stay hydrated and eat something**: Sometimes, drinking a cold drink or eating a snack can stimulate the baby to move. 3. **Talk to your healthcare provider**: If you notice a significant decrease in movement or if the baby isn't moving as usual after the kick count, contact your healthcare provider immediately. They may want to perform a non-stress test or an ultrasound to ensure the baby is doing well. It's always better to err on the side of caution when it comes to your baby's movements, so don't hesitate to reach out to your healthcare provider with any concerns.
