Hello Doctor, We have a newborn admitted in motherhood hospital, Noida. Doctors are saying that his left lung is compressed, can you please help us to understand if it is curable and how much time it will take to improve.

A. that means that the lung of the child has not developed properly on one side and it is small in size so that the doctor is giving the treatment to expand the lungs again. with time and development the doctor will be able to guide you that how much progress the child has made in the lung expansion so please remain in contact with your doctor

A. If there is not a lot of air and the pneumothorax is small, it can get better with time. If there is a large amount of air, it can make it hard for your child to breathe and will need urgent treatment. A bilateral pneumothorax is when air leaks out of both lungs and causes them to collapse – but this is rare
