Q.

Hello Doctor, My son is 16 months old. He does not make much eye contact. He is very much interested to watch cartoon but not people. Every one is feeling weird about it. I have completely stopped using mobile or tv. He still lacks interest in people. Doesn't look wen we call him. Doesn't look when i talk to him. He does not have any hearing problem. What should I do?

A. development by the age of 2 years the child should be able to speak few words with meaning in the sentence and should be able to understand all the commands and orders given by the parents and if you feel that they are not present in your child it is important to meet your pediatrician to assess the gcrowth milestones of the child and whether there is any need of therapy or not. if child has good understanding and follows orders andc command of the parents properly then do not worry much about speech as will eventually come. talk more with child. avoid tv mobile laptop. involve more people to interact with the child.
