Q.

hello doctor, How to check temperature for babies. what will be the normal range ? with mercury and digital we are checking in his armpit only. if we are using normal mercury thermometer we adding one more value for the output. Eg : if it shows 98 .4 then we are adding one more 99.4 if we are using digital inferred thermometer we are adding two more value for the output. Eg: if it shows 98.4 then we are adding two more values 100.4 Is this correct ,do we need to add one or two more values for the temperature. Please tell me doctor.

A. Age: Any age for screening.Put the tip of the thermometer in an armpit. Make sure the armpit is dry.Close the armpit by holding the elbow against the chest. Do this until it beeps (about 10 seconds). ...Your child has a fever if the armpit temp is above 99.0° F (37.2° C).
