Q.

Hello dctr.. My son is 3 n half year old now but he still doesn't talk. Kuchh words bolta hai but baatein nai karta.. What should I do??

A. proper language / speech development will start between 18 months of age to 3 years of age. there is no need to worry before that just concentrate on the diet and regular interaction with the child. also speech and language develops properly with more people available to interact with the child avoid usage of tv mobile and laptop because they are the most common reasons for delayed speech and language development. the most important thing is that before speech, understanding of the commands given by the parents should be present. by 18 months if thed child is not following basic commands then only you have to meet the doctor for speech and development assessment. requirement of speech therapy will also be discussed by your doctor.

A. thank you for reaching out to us with this question please no you will first need to get your baby hearing tested to make sure there are no issues with hearing if that is the case then I will suggest you work very closely with a speech therpist so that you can get this issue solved
