Good afternoon Doctor, I am a mom of twins they are 5 months old. I had fever since last two days and today one of my Daughter had a temperature of 99.7 plus body ache as she was not as active as before. I have given her one dose of Calpol and her fever has dropped but weakness is there. Please advise medication and precautions for both me and my twins

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy3 years agoA. The first medicine will always be paracetamol and it is given according to weight and power of paracetamol medicine you are having.
Give liquids and easily digestible food and paracetamol should be given only after food.
Keep the child in cool environment and avoid using woolen clothes when the child is having fever
Armpit temperature of hundred or more is considered as feverx
To body sponge to decrease the surface temperature and should be carried out for at least 20 minutes with normal temperature water.
Higher medicines whether required or not will be told by the doctor. x
