Can we use ice pack on 6th week vaccine swelling for our baby?

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children1 Year agoA. Post vaccination swelling may be a common thing specially after DPT vaccine which may be painful for two or three days and the swelling may remain even up to month so if it is not causing any pain or other symptoms nothing to worry.
Swelling can be reducgjued by giving ice fomentation locally and paracetamol can be given for fever or pain.j
Thrombophobe ointment can be applied in acute pain and swelling .

NikithaMom of 2 children1 Year agoA. hello yes keeping an ice pack over the area will help reduce the spelling and pain and would be absolutely safe to be used for the child and if the childi is having fever you can give paracetamol otherwise not required and any consult with your doctor
