can breast feeding mother take COVID vaccine ?

swati bhasinMom of 2 children4 years agoA. my baby is 2+ already.I want to end breastfeeding. It's very difficult for me to stop it completely especially nightfeed. She is taking proper solids but not giving up on breastfeeding. please help

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 10 m old boy4 years agoA. the final decision has to be taken by the mother but many pediatricians as well as studies indicate that it would be the good protective option for lactating mothers also as per the Government of India they are not recommending vaccination for lactating mothers but there are very good number of studies which suggest that lactating mothers can take the vaccination so the end decision will be yours and you can discuss this with your doctor

Hi The answer to your question is going to be no because it’s not recommended as of now for mothers so it would be better for you that you don’t take it at all as of now just wait for the time once you just finish breastfeeding completely then go for it
