Q.

#asktheexperts We have taken vaccination till 14 weeks, from government health centre; that's when we realised that they're not giving IPV3 and PCV3 saying that these doses are not available in NIS. They say that child will be directly given PCV booster after 9th month. So, can we take IPV3 and PCV3 from outside (like from a private hospital)? Or does the government provided series of vaccines have different composition due to which we should refrain from giving doses outside their schedule? Will it be harmful for the child's health?

A. All the vaccination should be given according to the vaccination schedule whether the government or IAP schedule and you can discuss with your pediatrician regarding the details of the vaccination. Pulse polio immunization programme is provided by the government toko all children below 5 years of age. if your child has received polio vaccine before as per the schedule then also you should give this vaccine on the the pulse polio day as this is an additional vaccine. For polio vaccine dates and related query you need to contact your local authorities .
