A. Congenital squint means that the child is born with a squint, or the squint develops within the first six months of life. In most cases, these types of squint occur because the actions of the eye muscles are not perfectly balanced. The reason for this is not known. In most cases one eye turns inwards.A true squint will not get better by itself, and early detection and advice on treatment is very important. The size of a squint may reduce with glasses or with treatment to help vision, both of which can make it less noticeable.
