A. If your 8-month-old baby has red eyes, it could be due to eye irritation, viral conjunctivitis (pink eye), allergies, or a blocked tear duct. Redness may come with watering, discharge, rubbing, or sensitivity to light. If there's yellow or green discharge, it might be an infection and needs medical attention. Keep the eyes clean by gently wiping with a clean, damp cotton cloth. Avoid using any eye drops without a doctor’s advice. If redness lasts more than a day, worsens, or comes with swelling or fever, consult a pediatrician or eye specialist promptly.
