#asktheexperts my 11 old day baby girl weight is 2.35 ( born weight 2.80). My little girl can not suck breast milk that’s why we use breast pump for feed. Around 2 to 3 hours she take around 30 ml feed ( mother milk by pump) with dropper. But she is not gain weight.. is it okie??

ExpertDr. Mohammed imranPaediatrician3 years agoA. initial day weight loose is seen tory to latch often check for any inverted nipple To boost lactation take lactare tablet and galact granules add oats and meat in the diet take lots of the oral fluids maintain hydration and keep a track on urine output

it is ok if a baby lose weight at initial days.
baby regain his weight within few days.
so don't worry
please continue with breastfeeding
try different feeding positions.
feed your child on each breast at least 20 minutes so he or she can get full fat hindmilk well which help to increase your child weight
