#asktheexperts M son got runny nose and he is suffering from mild cold from a week, is too cranky at the time cause of blocked or runny nose. He cries a lot when I have to put saline nasal drops. I am giving him Cheston cold syrup. Please suggest the medication to get this cured.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children4 years agoA. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination.
steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest.
As a part of viral illness there ...vcould be associated symptoms like cough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .
