Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy2 years agoA. the recurrent stretching / curving of the body again and again as well as uncomfort / making grunting sounds as well as hiccups as well as colic pain all are due to gas in the intestine and stomach.
it is very important that after giving milk to the child you
should keep the child in upright position and do burping for 15 to 20 minutes(irrespective that you hear the burps or not). gas in stomach causes hiccups.
do not keep the child back on the bed after 1 burping because one time burping will not remove all the gas and if the gas is not removed properly it goesz into intestine causing abnormal distension and that will lead to colic pain againz and again.
keep the child in upright position whether you hear the burping sound or not and also it is not important that you will hear the sound when the child removes the air from the oral cavity.
shreya goelMom of 2 children2 years agoA. Hello mom
Yes, it is totally normal in babies but if your baby is totally on mother’s milk then you should definitely make some changes in your diet plan because babies digestion totally depends on mothers diet. Rather than this don’t give anything else till six months.
