#asktheexperts How to encourage infants to drink water. My 7 n half months son doesn’t like to drink water when offered

A. it's fine.. keep trying . giving him a few sips of water with the help of spoon, couple of times a day (no more than 30 ml You may start with a sippy cup, spoon, or bottle feeder. Initially they won't take more than a few sips from a cup or bottle at a time—and that's fine, because they don't really need it.

A. Till 1 year, as most of the food is either pureed or semi solid, babies do not need much water intake. Per day 200-250 ml water would be enough. If baby does not drink plain water, give other fluids like fresh juices or coconut water. Also, keep a Sipper in his reach and drink infront of him so that he tries to drink whenever he wants to.
