A. A bicornuate uterus means your uterus is heart-shaped with two cavities instead of one. Many women with a bicornuate uterus can have successful pregnancies, but it can slightly increase the risk of complications like abnormal baby position, preterm labor, or issues during delivery. Whether a normal (vaginal) delivery is possible depends on a few factors: Baby’s position (head-down is ideal) Placenta’s location Your labor progress No signs of distress in baby or complications If everything is going well and the baby is in a good position, many women with a bicornuate uterus do have a normal delivery. However, your gynecologist is the best person to decide based on your condition and final scan reports. Always stay prepared for both outcomes—normal or C-section—depending on how labor progresses.
