#asktheexperts hi doctor my baby was born on 7 th November we need to take her for 6 week vaccine how may days we can delay the vaccine

A. 1wk delay is acceptable At  6,10,14wks ur baby should have  DTP, HiB, Hep. B, and IPV  Plus  Pneumoccocal vaccine Plus  Rotavirus vaccine.  In DTP component if u go for whole cell ie DTwP  It may cause pain fever and sometime swelling at vaccination site (painful vaccination).  In DTP component if u go for accelular ie DTaP It doesn't cause pain fever and swelling at vaccination site(painless vaccination).   Both Vaccine ie whole cell or accelular are equally good and effective

A. In case of emergency you can go ahead with delaying the vaccination for say about to 4 to 5 years but mostly used are always try to get the vaccination is done on time because once you skip one the second one is also going to be delayed for that much time
