Q.

#asktheexperts hello sir, my baby is of 11 1/2 month old now. she walks with support but if we try to make her walk by holding her hands she walks on her toes, completely she does not keep her feet to the ground. even if she sits in her walker, she keeps one feet touched to the ground and another leg only toes touched to the ground. is not normal or do i need to show to a doctor. one more thing sir, since from birth am noticing her chest looks little protruded.

A. a baby will start Sitting with support by 6 months of age and by 7 to 8 months baby will sit without support than by 9 months usually baby crawls and in 10 months baby will stand with support. After 12 to 15 months baby will start Walking independently and sometimyyes it may take even longer but in no case any Walker should be avoided as it can cause recurrent fall injury and delay in the walking because the child lacks confidence of walking independently.

A. See For chest issue if you want to you can definitely consult your doctor but when it comes to walking it’s absolutely fine in fact I will suggest you to remove walker completely let your child grow up naturally you will see that your child will learn to work faster without support if you remove Walker
