#asktheexperts Hello Dr, just a general question. What difference does it make if the baby doesn’t cry after birth?

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 6 m old boy2 years agoA. if the child's overall growth and milestones are normal than there is no need to worry regarding cried immediately after birth. but yes when the child doesn't cry after birth that means the respiration was not established and that means the child did not get proper oxygen in the body and their was oxygen deficiency in the body as well as brain so due to the deficiency there was injury in the internal organs and brain at that time being the main organ. so due to decreased Oxygen and damage to the brain there is chance of intellectual disability.
