Q.
#asktheexperts 1. Can I give animal milk to my 1 year old kid? 2. Can I use rock salt or black salt while preparing baby food & avoid our regular salt? Will he suffer from any iodine deficiency later? 3. My kid likes plain chapati with little salt added n oil. But I don't want to give him oil. Any suggestions for this? 4. Baby's weight is 8.4kg n he is 1 year 1 month old. Is he underweight? 5. In how many days can we give sugary food to babies?

ExpertDr. Minal AcharyaNutritionist3 years agoA. Dear mum, you can give animal milk to your baby. Weight of 8.4 kg is a normal weight for 13 months old baby, do not worry. You can use the regular salt for your child that you use at home. After 1 year, you can give all family foods to your child the way you prepare at your home. Avoid excess sugary foods and salt.
