Q.

#AskTheExpert what to do in case of chest congestion in 1.5 month old baby. He makes wheezing sounds when breathing and it gets amplified when asleep.

A. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cougytgh. if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

A. Babies are still working on their ability to regulate their digestive and respiratory systems, plus their sleep cycles are super wonky. This means that “normal” sleep for your baby will usually be a pretty noisy affair. By the time they're about 6 months old, it should settle down.
