Q.

#AskTheExpert our 8+ months old baby is having runny nose. we suspect he might have caught cold. What precautions should be take to prevent more severe cold?

A. Use steam inhalation. Steam will not shorten the length of the cold, but it will reduce the inflammation in the nasal passages and help to breathe better. Nasal congestion can be relieved with a few drops (1 or 2) of eucalyptus oil + coconut oil application on the chest, increase breast feeding, avoid cold wind n cold climate.

A. good morning it is advisable that you try to give your baby indirect steam inhalation and you apply baby Vicks rub on the nose in the child provide relief to the baby to some extent from the cold
