Q.

#AskTheExpert my wife is 17weeks pregnant , during 13 week scan doctor told nasal bone unossified and nt is 2mm. and double marker came positive. we have did nipt and it came negative and 15 th week scan shows Nasal bone 4.5 mm... do we need to do any further test

A. If the nasal bone was unoccupied and also the double marker test is positive then it would be advisable that you should take a second opinion with a more advanced doctor , as in many cases it is a strong indication that baby is not growing well Even if the NIPT test is normal

A. In case the result of the double marker test is positive, the doctor might recommend further diagnostic procedures like amniocentesis or chorionic villus sampling to find the problem.
