#AskTheExpert my toddler keeps rubbing his genital area everywhere. sometimes that itself become painful and he doesn't allow us to touch. but he is normal otherwise with all his eating habits, digestive secretion and all. please suggest me something to divert him from that habit

usually kids do this as they trying to explore their body parts through touching smelling and tasting.
so don't worry
it will be alright by the time
just follow early mentioned points.
try to distract your child by giving toys or activities.
please don't scold or yell at your child for this.
it is common among kids.

I clean that area often. but he's not rubbing with his hands. he's rubbing it in some object or in our legs. it's really weird. I don't know from where he learnt. I'm worried

please do the following things:
keep your child well hydrated
avoid using diapers
prefer loose fitting Cotton clothes for your child.
avoid using soap while cleaning this area.
just use Luke warm water.
apply thin layer of coconut oil there ,it will help to reduce the itching
maintain good hygiene
