A. If your 3-month-old son is suffering from cold and cough, here’s what you can do: Keep his nose clear – Use saline nasal drops and a soft nasal aspirator to gently remove mucus. Keep him hydrated – Continue regular breastfeeding or formula feeding to keep him well-hydrated and help loosen mucus. Use a humidifier – A cool mist humidifier in the room can help ease congestion and make breathing more comfortable. Avoid giving any over-the-counter cold medicine, as it's not safe for babies under 6 months. If your baby has a fever over 100.4°F (38°C), trouble feeding, breathing difficulty, or seems very sleepy or irritable, consult a pediatrician immediately.
