Q.

#AskTheExpert my son was born on 11th August at 3.14kg. today he's 4kg. Urine output and everything else are normal. Does the slow weight increase affect development etc? he's breastfed.

A. it's ok Weight should double the birth weight by 5 month of age Weight gain depeens upon birth weight and maturity of the baby if the baby is active and feeding adequately don't worry about it feed for 10 to 15 min from each side

A. Hi mom The weight gain of the baby is perfectly fine. Babies they gain around 200 gms per week in the initial first month. Ideally the weight gets double the birth weight by five months and triple the birth weight by one year
