#AskTheExpert My son has developed a white spot on one of his cheek recently, does it suggest any deficiency? He's been exclusively breastfed for 6 months and from last one week, he's consuming moong dal ka pani too. He''s been given vitamin D and iron-calcium supplements daily. Kindly suggest what to do.

A. While your white spots may be permanent, there are some remedies that have been suggested as good ways of disguising or improving the way the white spots look. Coconut oil applied to the skin is an anti-inflammatory that will encourage the growth of new pigment.
