Q.

#AskTheExpert my newborn (27 days) always strain and cry during potty..... although she is not having any hard motions ...she becomes little irritable if motion doesn't pass after straining.....is it problem?...what can be done for it....

A. straining while passing urine and stool is very normal before completion of 6 months of age. sometimes this can continue for one year of age also. it usually occurs due to the distention of the urinary bladder and rectum of the child. the sensation is new zfor the child that's why the child is crying if you feel that the crying is more than normal you should visit a pediatrician for examination.
