Q.

#AskTheExpert my kid is having fever for 5 days. dosctors are telling it will go off. She had cold one week back.now having paracetamol only.

A. ity bethe flu. Fever is when the temperature is more then 99 degree . Paracetamol can be given for the fever every 6 hourly of fever is reoccurring frequently. Fever may be due to any viral infection so mostly will subside in 3 days other wise consult a doctor near by.

A. The first medicine will always be paracetamol and it is given according to weight and power of paracetamol medicine you are having. Give liquids and easily digestible food and paracetamol should be given only after food. Keep the child in cool environment and avoid using woolen clothes when the child is having fever Armpit temperature of hundred or more is considered as fever To body sponge to decrease the surface temperature and should be carried out for at least 20 minutes with normal temperatxure water. Higher medicines whether required or not will be told by the doctor.
