#AskTheExpert my kid have hives from 3 to 4 days , we are giving levocetrizine +montelucust syrup and also applying calamine lotion. is that enough or any special ointment we can give for the hives.

A. hi yes it is good. but as hives are caused by many reasons like allergic reaction , insect bite etc so it depends how long it lasts. please take some precautions or steps to prevent and cure it along with your doctor's prescribed medicines : keep your child well hydrated. dress your child in comfortable clothes. trim your child nails regularly. refrain from scented soaps and cosmetics. give bath with cold water (not too cold ) ,it is one of the most effective way to reduce it.
