A. Redness in your daughter's private area could be due to irritation, heat, or a mild infection. To soothe it, you can apply a gentle barrier cream, such as one containing zinc oxide or petroleum jelly, to protect the skin and reduce irritation. Ensure the area is kept clean and dry; wash gently with lukewarm water and pat dry instead of rubbing.Avoid using soaps or wipes with fragrances, as these can further irritate sensitive skin. Let her wear loose, breathable cotton clothing to prevent friction and allow air circulation. If the redness persists, worsens, or is accompanied by discomfort, consult a pediatrician for proper evaluation and treatment.
