A. For a 7-month-old baby, you can start introducing a variety of solid foods along with breast milk or formula. At this age, babies are typically ready for more textures and flavors. Here are some food suggestions you can offer: 1. Pureed or mashed vegetables: Carrots, sweet potatoes, peas, pumpkin, or cauliflower. Ensure they are cooked well and mashed or pureed to a smooth consistency. 2. Fruits: Mashed or pureed fruits like banana, apple, pear, or avocado. You can also serve small, soft pieces of fruit as finger foods, like peeled apple or pear. 3. Rice or dal: Well-cooked rice mashed with a little bit of water, or mashed dal (lentils) can be introduced. You can make a thin soup or dal soup to feed her. 4. Cereal or porridge: Baby rice cereal or oats porridge (without added sugar or salt) can be a good option. You can mix breast milk or formula milk in the porridge to make it creamier. 5. Yogurt: Plain yogurt can be introduced, but ensure it is not too cold. Start with small amounts and watch for any signs of allergies. 6. Small pieces of soft foods: If she can grasp food, you can try soft-cooked vegetables or fruits as finger foods. 7. Soft boiled egg: If there are no known allergies to eggs in your family, you can offer soft-boiled egg yolk to start with. Important Tips: Continue breastfeeding or formula feeding as the main source of nutrition. Introduce one food at a time and wait for 3-4 days to check for any allergic reactions. Avoid honey until after the first year. Make sure the food is in a soft, easily mashable, or pureed form to avoid choking. Always consult with your pediatrician before introducing any new foods, especially if you have concerns about allergies or intolerances.
