#asktheexpert my daughter doesn't eat much. she mostly relies on milk, biscuits or some snacks. she doesn't like solid food. have tried different dishes. she hates fruits. what should I do?

A. Low appetite can be due to reasons like low zinc levels or too much dairy products or less gap between meals etc. Include ajwain , ginger, lemon or carrot juice, coconut water, curd with mint in the kid's meals to boost the appetite. South Indian rasam will also increase the appetite. You can get her some zinc syrup prescribed from your pediatrician. Also set up a reward system. If she eats well or finishes a meal give her a sticker. Once she collects ten stickers get her a small gift.
