#asktheexpert my child is not 7 months and 7 days but she has not yet started sitting on her own... whenever I try to let her sit she sits for some time but then falls back..also she is crawling but not yet started crawling with her knees but yes she is trying , also when she is holding me she is trying to get up and she is almost geting up on her own by holdin me..she is also standing with a little support but not very firmly...why has she not started sitting on her own yet? I am very worried

A. sitting without support and crawling in children may sometimes come after one year of age also. if the growth of the child is proper no need to worry. just take care of regular diet and baby massage which will help in strengthening the muscles needed for sitting and crawlings. in some cases crawling may be absent in children and directly the child will begin to stand with support and later walk with support and then without support. take a medical check up done to confirm if there is need of any intervention.
