#asktheexpert my child is 10 months and she is pulling her ears .. I am not sure why she is doing this. Also, on her neck there are reddish colour allergy types happened.What to do with that.

meeta agarwalMom of 2 children4 years agoA. Hello, your child is pulling at their ear or cheek, it could mean a couple of different things. It could be a sign of an ear infection, or it could mean teething. When teeth erupt they can cause pain that spreads across the cheeks and ears. If this happens, a trip to the doctor may be needed to rule out an ear infection.
Apply a thin coat of a healing ointment like Aquaphor or petroleum jelly, which will act as a barrier between your baby's skin and the drool. These ointments can be soothing to your baby's irritated skin. At bath time, be sure to use a mild, unscented baby wash.
